Heatwave Holiday

Yesterday as I lay melting
It was hot; stuffy; sweltering
but then you thundered in – like that
the saviour of us crazy cats!
You roared across the sunburnt state
You left sweet relief in your wake.
The city – dancing in the rain
spinning around – there is no shame
Please don’t leave us! Please don’t go away
we love you dearly! please, please, stay!
Thanks to you we can breathe again;
you’re beautiful – our long lost friend!

I like to think I'm a story teller. I love stories. I believe the world is filled with stories just waiting to be told and learned. I enjoy travelling down the road less travelled, with my iPhone and journal in each hand. Here you'll find all my poetic musings... Enjoy!

  1. Much of the country desperately needs rain. My thoughts are with those in SA & Victoria who are currently and have experienced terrible bush fires 😦

    Nice reflective post, Thanks for sharing!

    Ps: I’d love to send some of our rain your way!

    1. Thanks! Yes, we need plenty of rain down here – we can smell the smoke in the city – it’s rather horrible.
