The Other Side

Written for Heeding Haiku With HA: Summer Kigo by MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie…  Summer is indeed burning brightly over the northern hemisphere and I am so much looking forward to joining them next month for a couple of weeks. However, south of the equator, at the bottom of the world Winter is making herself very well known. So here is my tanka from:

The OtherSide

Winter Sun caught in trees

On the other side

billowing clouds block the sun

wind chimes dance fiercely

shaded from Summers beauty

we’ll find our way back again.

I like to think I'm a story teller. I love stories. I believe the world is filled with stories just waiting to be told and learned. I enjoy travelling down the road less travelled, with my iPhone and journal in each hand. Here you'll find all my poetic musings... Enjoy!

  1. Hi Charlie, as a fellow Melbournian I feel your pain – the wind chimes would definitely be dancing fiercely today (if not flying away all-together!) Your tanka has really captured this year’s winter well and your picture beautifully complements your poem 🙂

    1. Thank you for your lovely comments. It’s a nice to meet a fellow Melbournian. Today, is indeed, a classic Melbourne. Did you see how it changed so dramatically???
