Mother must think its winter
She is heating up the house
Unleashing a wrath of rays
Summer has arrived, Melbourne.
Sweltering in the south land
Stifled within a furnace
Baking in an earth-like kiln
Hell hath arrived in Melbourne.
Beaten by a wall of heat
Weary from restless sleeping
Grouchy from public delays
Melting with you, our Melbourne.
Storming through the urban town
Flashing when things get too low
Igniting country bush lands
It’s a fiery time, Melbourne.
Torture comes in many forms
Extremes go beyond the graph
People are put to the test
It’s a tough week in Melbourne.
If you are having warm days. Good for you. We have have at least three months of Winter left here in Michigan. I hope you are enjoying the warm days. A nice poem for a Winter day.

Thank you. We’ve had one scorching week in Australia hopefully mother nature can turn the heat down for us. I see from the news you’ve had a crazy winter so far..

Wasn’t Melbourne the inspiration for Neil Finn’s Four Seasons in One Day? I need to use that as a sound track to an upcoming ramble – great writing! Cheers J

It sure was! There’s always been a common phrase amongst the locals that “if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 min” 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.

I was there in Melbourne the week before your post. I know since I left it has been very hot, then again it is hot up here in NSW as well, no cool change just yet. But while there I did frequent the lane ways of Melbourne with my son. Thank you so much for following my blog. I hope to visit again.

Thanks for returning the follow. The cool change came in for us on Friday night and I don’t think there is a single Melbournian unhappy about it. I hope you enjoyed our laneway culture whilst here – it’s the best of Melbourne in my opinion. 🙂
